Windsor police say a car smashed into a pillar at the underpass.
Firefighters had to cut away much of the vehicle to extricate the lone male driver who suffered severe injuries. He has been rushed to the hospital.
So far there's no word on the driver's condition or if police will lay charges.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
