The fire started just after 7am, at the front door of the home.
Damages were significant, with estimates pegged at $300,000. There were $220,000 worth of damages to the house itself, and $80,000 to the contents inside.
There were no injuries in the blaze. The investigation is ongoing.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
