UPDATE: Stabbing, "I Wanted You To Kill Me"

A 23-year-old, arrested after a stabbing in Walkerville on the weekend, is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault.

Officers responded to an incident in front of the Kildare House restaurant around 5:30pm on Saturday, and found the suspect sitting on a curb, holding a large knife.

After attempting to talk to the man and de-escalate the situation, police say the suspect stood up and began walking toward one of the officers without saying a word. That's when a taser was used, and officers were able to take the knife from the 23-year-old and arrest him.

Police say the suspect was asked why he walked towards the officer while armed, and he said, "I wanted you to kill me."

The victim of the stabbing has been treated in hospital.
