The Windsor Police Service says the woman went missing from the Berkshire Care Centre located at 350 Dougall Ave., on Sunday around 5pm.
The woman suffers from Alzheimer's disease and police were concerned for her welfare.
She has since been located safe.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
