Amherstburg Mayor Injured On Motorcycle

Amherstburg mayor Aldo DiCarlo is recovering from a broken clavicle after he crashed his motorcycle.

Provincial police say the single vehicle crash happened around 4:15pm yesterday at the corner of Broadway St. and Ducharme St. in Belle River.

His wife, who was was riding on the bike with DiCarlo at the time, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

According to Amherstburg CAO John Miceli, DiCarlo is meeting with a surgeon today to learn how his broken bones will be treated.

The town's next council meeting is next Monday. Miceli says DiCarlo's attendance is still up in the air.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
