Dog Quarantined After Bite

A Rottweiler is in quarantine for after biting someone on the ankle along Glengarry Ave. in Windsor.

The incident happened late yesterday.

Humane Society officials say the owner of the dog had to go to the hospital, so they've taken the animal in what they call "emergency boarding." It will be picked up as soon as the owner returns home.

Dogs who bite humans are typically quarantined at their own homes and checked on by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit after ten days to ensure they don't have rabies.

There has not been a case of rabies in Windsor since 1994.
