Watson Hitting The Campaign Trail

Conservative MP Jeff Watson is opening his campaign office in Essex today.

He wants residents to keep his record in mind when filling out ballots this October.

"We've done a significant amount; everything from the auto industry to infrastructure and economic development," explains Watson. "Obviously we have more to do. That's what elections are about. We'll also be talking about our platform in days to come and some of the new measures."

Watson attacked the NDP during his speech to launch his campaign, saying the party's new auto strategy will kill jobs by taxing the manufacturers.

He thinks the Conservatives Auto Innovation Fund, which was established in 2008, is working to bring new jobs to Canada and will continue to do so.
