Study Commissioned For Tecumseh Sportsplex

Tecumseh is paying $84,000 for a feasibility study on plans for a new multi-use sportsplex in the town.

Deputy Mayor Joe Bachetti calls the study critical in planning the approach to the facility.

"We can decide what direction we want to take," says Bachetti. "If we need more information or if we're ready to go onto the next step. We can create a fundraising committee, engage the community in terms of design and build."

MHPM Project Leaders is the firm handling the study which Bachetti expects council will see before the end of the year.

"A project like this can be anywhere from $6-million to $10-million and so we want to make sure that if we go in that direction we know how we're going to pay for this facility," says Bachetti.

Council voted unanimously in support of having the study done.
