SIU Investigates E-Bike Rider's Arrest

The province's Special Investigations Unit is investigating after an e-bike rider suffered injuries during an arrest in Tecumseh.

Wednesday, an Ontario Provincial Police officer spotted a man he knew was prohibited from driving a motor vehicle on an e-bike. The man also wasn't wearing a helmet.

When the officer tried to stop the man but when he didn't cooperate, he was tasered. He suffered minor injuries.

The 42-year-old faces assault with intent to resist arrest and prohibited driving charges.

Police call the Special Investigations Unit whenever there's an injury or death involving the police.
