Cockroach Infestation Closes Windsor Restaurant

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has ordered Chanoso's to close its doors due to a cockroach infestation.

Mike Tudor, manager of health inspection, says it followed a complaint issued to the health unit.

Mike Janisse, communications manager with the health unit, says the closure will remain in effect until the owner rectifies the problem and health inspectors are satisfied all provisions within the order have been met.

Janisse says a verbal order was issued this morning, followed up by a written one this afternoon.

Chanoso's is located at 255 Oullette Ave. in Windsor.

Signs posted at both Chanoso's and neighbouring restaurant South Detroit blame a "plumbing issue" for their closure.
