The family of two Windsor children, killed in a 30-vehicle pile-up on I-75 in Michigan, is looking to move past the tragedy now that its lawsuit has been settled.
Lawyer Greg Monforton says he and his Michigan co-counsel successfully resolved the wrongful death lawsuit against Capacity Transport Inc. and one of its drivers, Wednesday.
He can't speak to the financial details of the case, but says the family is pleased with the outcome and wants to thank members of the public who came forward with details about the incident.
"We had reached out to the public, a few weeks after this collision, asking for anyone with any information surrounding this tragedy to come forward," explains Monforton. "A number of people did, and the information they provided was instrumental to us in the prosecution of this claim."
Aiden Hicks, 7, and Gabrielle Greenwood, 9, were killed in the 2013 crash, while their step mother Kimberly Barrett, father Glen Greenwood and sister Hannah Greenwood all continue to recover from serious injuries.
