Kingsville Starting Mettawas Fundraising Committee

Kingsville needs to raise $3-million in order to enhance Mettawas Park, and is establishing a committee to do so.

Mayor Nelson Santos says the town is in the process of acquiring 11 acres of riverfront property to add to the park, and the funding will ensure that needs identified in Kingsville Parks Master Plan are met.

"The development of the connection to a 5 km trail," Santos explains is a need. "The inclusion of Kingsville's waterfront splash pad, the introduction and reestablishment of the former Grovedale House that was there."

Santos says the Mettawas development will give Kingsville another jewel, alongside Lakeside Park, where residents can enjoy green space and hold large gatherings.
