Former Loop Building Being Sold

The home of the former downtown bar "The Loop" is set to sell for millions of dollars according to various media reports.

Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association president Larry Horwitz all but confirmed those reports to BlackburnNews.com, saying a deal may be announced shortly.

"There's been a lot of interest from outside investors coming into Windsor and my understanding is there are some deals being worked on," says Horwitz adding the investor is "thinking the future of the downtown is bright."

Horwitz adds the sale could include more than just the former Loop building.

"I had no worries that eventually Chatham St. will develop. It will become great again because it's a beautiful area and it deserves redevelopment," says Horwitz. "I'd like to see a lot of retail shops, restaurants, maybe some clubs. We need pedestrians downtown."
