Grand Opening For The Village At St. Clair

Schlegel Villages is celebrating its newest long-term care facility, holding the grand opening of The Village at St. Clair in Windsor on Thursday.

Vice President of Western Operations Joanne Potts says the new facility opened in July of last year and hit its 256 resident cap by the end of October.

"People are generally very excited to be here," says Potts. "Sometimes they've been waiting a long time before they come whether it's at hospital or sometimes they're maybe at a home that might not have been their first choice."

Potts says The Village at St. Clair is seeing strong interest from potential residents.

"We do have a wait list at this point. I would say most of the long-term care homes in this city do, but certainly there is a demand for folks to come and live here and be part of our community," says Potts.

The wait list for residency at the St. Clair location has nearly 200 applicants.
