Uber Begins Service In Windsor

As of 3pm today, people will be able to use Uber in Windsor to get around.

The ride sharing service issued a press release this morning stating Windsor, Kingston and Niagara Falls would all be added.

Users are being offered two free rides up to $20 each until Sunday at midnight.

To take advantage of the service, people use a smart phone app to request a ride.

No money changes hands, instead the app automatically charges the user's credit card.

The local taxi industry has campaigned hard against the service, which was supported by Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.
