Search For New Kingsville CAO Winding Down

Kingsville is sending an offer to its preferred candidate for the town's top administrative job.

Mayor Nelson Santos says there were 69 applications for CAO — more than double the number of applicants the town got for other positions.

"Applicants ranged from 12 to 30 at the high end, so to see that type of response is very positive for our community and a very good opportunity for our team to meet with some very strong individuals," says Santos.

There isn't yet a projected start date for the new CAO.

Santos says the candidate the town is going after ticks off a lot of boxes.

"Experience. Respect in the field. You look at the opportunity to share a vision. The leadership skills and the background that they have in working with people from different sectors," says Santos.

Acting CAO Dan DiGiovanni has stayed on in the role on contract after officially retiring earlier this year.
