Riverside Near Bridge Re-Opens

Riverside Dr. near the Ambassador Bridge is open again after being closed for 11 days because of falling debris.

Bridge officials installed planking to prevent more debris from falling onto the roads and sidewalks below, allowing for the road to be re-opened.

Riverside Dr. was the last of five east-west roads to be closed to allow for improvements to the underside of the bridge. University Ave., Donnelly St., Wyandotte St. and Peter St. had all be closed because of the safety concern, but have since re-opened.

The northbound curb lane of Huron Church Rd. near the bridge is still closed, but is expected to re-open soon.
