Repairs Approved For Outdoor Rink

The City of Windsor will spend $26,200 to complete repairs needed to make ice at Charles Clark Square for the 2015/2016 skating season.

The refrigeration system and compressors used to make ice are in need of repairs.

Director of Parks Phil Roberts says the company to complete the work is already lined up.

"Our hope is that when the weather is suitable and with the work that is currently going on to make the repairs, we should be in good shape for a winter ice season if the temperatures aren't too warm," he says.

Roberts says recreation staff determined synthetic ice is not suitable for Charles Clark Square because it is not a completely level surface.
