UPDATE: Front Rd. Blaze Keeps Firefighters Busy

Firefighters from LaSalle and Amherstburg have attended a working house fire on Front Rd.

The Amherstburg Fire Department says the blaze broke out on Saturday around 10pm in the 2300-block of Front Rd. N.

Fire officials add the fire started in the basement, and eventually the main floor collapsed, making the house unsafe to enter.

Damages are estimated around $250,000.

Police have reopened Front Rd. North at Essex Rd. 3 after closing a section of the roadway during the blaze.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
