Black Furday At Humane Society

Shopping on Black Friday often means TV deals, cheap clothing and movies, but how about a cat?

The Windsor/Essex Humane Society is taking advantage of the popular shopping day with a twist -- Black Furday.

Friday only, serious adopters can take home a cuddly cat, kitten or small animal for 50% off.

The humane society is open from 11am-8pm today.

During Black Friday last year, the shelter discounted black animals 60% off.

The humane society has told BlackburnNews.com this promotion is a Catch 22. It allows the pets to get homes sooner, but also cuts into its sustainability because adoption fees don't even cover all medical costs the animals receive.
