Windsor-Essex Presents Three Parades

The magic of Christmas will be on full display Saturday as Santa Claus makes an appearance in at least two of the three parades in Windsor-Essex.

Santa Claus parades in both Amherstburg and Leamington get underway at 6pm.

In Amherstburg, the procession starts on Sandwich St. between William St. and St. Arnaud St. and heads west to Richmond St. From there, it continues to Dalhousie St. where it ends at Toddy Jones Park.

Amherstburg also presents its Holiday House Tour featuring ten homes decorated for the season.

In Leamington, the parade starts on Erie St. and heads to the Leamington Fair Grounds from Georgia St.

In Windsor, the Winterfest Parade through downtown starts on Ouellette Ave. at Giles Blvd. at 3pm. Windsor's Santa Claus Parade is on December 5.

The Belle River BIA Tree Lighting Celebration gets underway at Optimist Park on Notre Dame St. at 5pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
