Explosion In Barn Under Investigation

Fire officials are investigating after an explosion occurred in a barn in Amherstburg.

The Amherstburg Fire Department says fire crews attended the scene in the 5000-block of Middle Side Rd. around 3pm on Sunday.

No one was injured in the explosion or ensuing fire.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office has been notified and will attending the scene Monday morning, along with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority.

The cause and a damage estimate are unknown at this time.
