UPDATE: Truck Shears Hydro Pole In Half

Cleanup crews have their hands full after a vehicle sheared a hydro pole in half Monday morning.

OPP were called to County Rd. 11 (Walker Rd.) between Alma St. and South Malden Rd in Essex at about 6:45am.

Police say a pickup truck hit a hydro pole, snapping it in half and causing wires to be strewn across the road. No other vehicles were involved.

The area was closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the mess, but has since reopened.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
