UPDATE: Vehicle Collides With Bridge (Gallery)

Speed is believed to be a factor after a vehicle lost control and nearly went up and over the River Canard Bridge in Amherstburg.

Emergency crews rushed to the single-vehicle crash around 6:30pm Sunday.

Two women inside escaped uninjured after their vehicle became wedged between the bridge's arch and guardrail. Both were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The investigation is ongoing and police aren't saying if charges will be laid.
