County Weighing Options On WEEDC

The County of Essex is analyzing its options after the City of Windsor's decision to move to a new service agreement model with the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation.

As the other funding partner, the county will need to decide if they will use a similar model, a completely different model or remain status quo.

"I think that there's areas where we can make improvements, such as in communication with the funders," says County Warden Tom Bain.

Bain expects a report back to council early in the new year after CAOs from all seven municipalities have an opportunity to meet.

"Our plans at the present time are to keep funding levels the same. This will allow us a year of funding the development commission and a chance to look at where there are areas where we need to make some changes," says Bain.
