Turkey Giveaway Line Keeps Getting Longer

For the tenth straight year, Mikhail Holdings is ensuring that 500 Windsor-Essex families will enjoy a turkey dinner this holiday season.

Lou Mikhail says he sees how great the need is each year, and that's what keeps the event going.

"I've never seen the line-up go around the whole block at the beginning (like it did this morning)," he says. "We had people camping out since 6pm last night. More than 12 hours in the cold just to get a meal -- they probably really need it."

Mikhail says he and his team of volunteers enjoy the giveaway because they get to connect with the less fortunate in the community and directly hand them something that they need.

The bags handed out this morning along Ouellette Ave. contained a turkey, potatoes, corn, bread, and cookies.
