Spitfires Double Spirit

The Windsor Spitfires won their fourth game in a row with 6-3 victory over the Saginaw Spirit on Saturday.

The Spirit took an early lead scoring 2:20 into the first, but Windsor gained a 2-1 advantage going into the second. Both teams scored one goal in the next period to keep Saginaw one point behind, but Windsor was able to score three goals in the final frame over one from Saginaw to earn the win.

Brendan Lemieux led the Spits with a hat-trick, while Aaron Luchuk scored two. Cristiano DiGiacinto also had one.

The Spitfires will now break for the holidays and return to the ice on December 28 to take on the Sarnia Sting at 7:05pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
