Spits Beat Greyhounds In Shootout

Despite a comeback by Sault Ste. Marie, the Windsor Spitfires were able to down the Greyhounds 3-2 in a shootout on Thursday.

Spitfires' left winger Brendan Lemieux scored the first goal of the game less than two minutes into the first period, followed by left winger Hayden McCool who scored to give Windsor a 2-0 lead going into the second. After no scoring in the second frame, the Greyhounds scored twice in the third to tie the game and force OT.

Neither team scored in overtime and Windsor's Logan Brown and Gabriel Vilardi each scored in the shootout to earn the win for the Spits.

The Windsor Spitfires will take on the Flint Firebirds next on Saturday at 7:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
