University Hosts Celebration Of Life For Pawley

The University of Windsor is hosting a celebration of life for former Manitoba premier and professor Howard Pawley Saturday.

Pawley passed away in a Windsor hospital December 30. He was 81.

Pawley served as Manitoba's premier from 1981 to 1988 and came to the university in 1991 to teach political science and law. He was also a member of the Windsor Public Library Board and was active on many NDP election campaigns in the city.

The celebration starts at 11:30am at the Ambassador Auditorium at the CAW Student Centre.

Speakers include his daughter Charysse Pawley, former Windsor-Tecumseh MP Joe Comartin and university president Alan Wildeman.
