Kingsville Hires New CAO

The Town of Kingsville has a new Chief Administrative Officer.

Peggy Van Mierlo-West comes to the town from the Dryden in northwestern Ontario and starts February 23, 2016. "It will be a good fit in our community. She also comes from Central Huron which a municipality that has a lake front within its boundaries and we think we can add some uniqueness with Peggy coming on board," says Kingsville Mayor Nelson Santos. The town began its CAO search in 2015 when Dan DiGiovanni announced plans to retire. Santos says the job attracted 69 applicants from across the country and an extensive interview process was done before coming to a final decision. DiGiovanni retires at the end of March. "We do have a little bit of transition to work with Peggy Van Mierlo-West will work with Dan DiGiovanni just to kind of go through a little bit of orientation and transition," says Santos.
