Bridge Authority Holding First Public Meeting

The agency overseeing construction of the new Gordie Howe International Bridge is holding its first public meeting.

The meeting Thursday starts at 2pm at MacKenzie Hall on Sandwich St. in Windsor. For those who cannot attend, the meeting will also be live streamed on the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority's website.

It's an opportunity for the public to find out more about the authority and give feedback.

The authority released its short list of consortiums bidding for the contract to build and design the new border crossing last month.

The Gordie Howe International Bridge is expected to be complete in 2020 at a cost of $4.8-billion.
