Fire crews rushed to the home at 3114 McRobbie Rd, at around 6:30am on Friday, to find fire and heavy smoke coming from the basement.
Fire officials say the home was not occupied at the time.
No injuries have been reported.
A cause and a damage estimate have yet to be released.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
