Electricians Support New Contracts

Electricians and electrical apprentices at two different companies in Windsor have voted in favour of new contacts.

Employees at Lariviere Electric Ltd. voted unanimously in favour of a new two-year agreement, which provides employees with annual increases to the hourly wage rate.

Workers employed by Poirier Electric Limited voted 95% in favour of their new contract, which includes increases to the hourly wage rate every six months over the three-year term. The contract also provides improved tool and boot allowances, as well as living-out allowances.

Contracts for both companies also guarantee improved coverage for life insurance and vision. Employer-paid pension contributions will also rise to 8% for all employees.

Workers at both companies are represented by Construction Workers Local No. 53.
