UPDATE: Woman Dies In Fire

After a nearly three day investigation, Windsor fire officials have confirmed how a woman died after a house blaze on Curry Ave.

Firefighters responded to 395 Curry Ave. just after 10am Saturday morning, to find the second floor and the attic also on fire.

Fire officials say two dogs also perished in the blaze. With the fire stemming from the home's kitchen stove, they add the woman died as a result of smoke inhalation.

The fire is not deemed to be suspicious. Damages are estimated at $150,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
