Woman Arrested On Arson Charges

A 47-year-old woman is in custody facing arson charges following a fire Tuesday night.

Fire crews responded to an apartment unit on Meadowbrook Lane, just off Tecumseh Rd. E and Lauzon Pkwy around 6:30pm.

Police say the small fire was put out by the complainant before Windsor Fire arrived. The Complainant says he was involved in an argument with the accused and the female set items on fire in another room before leaving the apartment.

Damage is estimated at $1000 and there were no injuries.

The woman is charged with arson disregard for human life and arson causing property damage.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
