Fresh Food And Drink Festivals On The Way

Two new festivals hosted by Windsor Eats are coming to the city this summer.

The Great Canadian Quaff, a celebration of all barrel-aged beverages, is set for July 8 and 9.

"From whiskey to bourbon, cask beers, wine, and even some tequilas and other drinks that are barrel-aged -- we're hoping to showcase at the festival," says Organizer Adriano Ciotoli.

He explains that it'll be set up in the courtyard at McKenzie Hall in Windsor's west end, and with such an intimate setting, Ciotoli hopes to have vendors rotating in and out each hour.

The Sausage Fest will then take place August 5 and 6 at the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association Hangar, and is pretty much exactly what it sounds like.

Ciotoli says it'll include specialty sausages from the likes of Robbie's Gourmet Sausages in Walkerville, the Butcher of Kingsville, and other local restaurateurs.
