Bus Crash Sends Students To Hospital

Grade 3 students from Queen Victoria Public School are recovering after their bus was involved in a multi-vehicle collision in south Windsor.

Windsor police say a school bus carrying 32 kids was travelling through the intersection of Provincial Rd. and Sixth Concession Rd. around 10:30am Thursday when it collided with a car and a truck.

The Greater Essex County District School Board says two students and one staff member required medical attention for minor injuries related to the crash.

The driver of the bus and car were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the crash remains under investigation and weather may have played a role.

The students on board were on their way to attend the annual Pediatric Read Young Authors' Conference at the Ciociaro Club. A second bus was sent to the scene and returned remaining students to the school.

Provincial and Sixth Concession was closed for a short time, but has since reopened.
