Community Centre Construction On Time

Construction at the South Windsor Recreation Complex is on schedule.

A $4.5-million addition is being added to the facility to accommodate programming from the Oakwood Community Centre that is closing in December. The addition will include a new gym and additional community rooms.

"Definitely we've grown too big for what we have so it will be great to offer new programs, get some more kids in and become a little bit busier," says Oakwood Community Centre supervisor Nikki Leblanc.

Oakwood Community Centre is already the busiest facility in the city.

"We have about 160 programs that we run every week. So we're looking to grow, offer more programs to the community, different ages older, younger, seniors to get them into community programming," says Leblanc.

Construction is set to wrap up in November.
