UPDATE: Front Rd. Fire In Amherstburg

Investigators report rags used for staining are to blame for a fire at 744 Front Rd. N in Amherstburg on Thursday morning which caused an estimated $500,000 in damage.

Firefighters rushed to the home around 8:30am yesterday, just south of Kingsbridge Dr.

Officials say the fire was out upon arrival and the flames were contained to a small area in the living room. No one was reported injured.

Officials report the rags self heated causing fire and smoke damage to the house.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
