UPDATE: Garage Fire Causes $50K In Damage

An improperly discarded cigarette is to blame for a garage fire at a residential home in Amherstburg.

The Amherstburg Fire Department says fire crews responded to the blaze at 51 Balaclava St. on Thursday around 7:30pm.

No one was injured in the fire.

Damage to the garage and contents is estimated at $50,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
