Emergency Crews Investigate Suspicious Material

Windsor fire and police have determined there is no public safety issue after  investigating a suspicious material at an apartment building in downtown Windsor.

Investigators were on the scene from around 12:30 to 4:00 this afternoon after a complainant was exposed to an unknown substance at 1333 Ouellette Ave.

Police say the man was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The Windsor Police Explosive Devices Unit and Fire Special Operations Unit were on scene and sending officers in with protective equipment.

The building was not evacuated and traffic was moving well through the area. The scene is now clear.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
