Firefighters Battle Hall Ave. House Fire

Unattended cooking is to blame for a house fire on Hall Ave. in Windsor.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service says firefighters were called to the blaze at 1649 Hall Ave., on Saturday around 9:30pm. Fire crews were able to get the fire under control quickly.

The sole occupant of the home was able to make it out safely with a pet dog. Fire officials say the resident is now displaced as a result of the fire.

Damage from the fire is estimated at $60,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
