Transitional Stability Centre Opening Soon

Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare is getting ready to open the doors to the new Transitional Stability Centre.

The centre will serve as a day program for people experiencing mental health and addiction problems offering housing support, counselling and access to other support agencies.

"We believe that this centre allows for us and our partners to work in ways we never really considered before to serve the population," says HDGH CEO Janice Kaffer.

The centre is expected to help people stay off the street and reduce calls to first responders.

"The goal is that there is no body out there that we've interacted with that will be out there on their own. We want to keep a connection with them all so that we don't end up with major events in the community and crisis situations," says Kaffer.

They hope to have the facility up and running by the end of May.
