Around $50,000 in drugs -- mostly Oxycodone pills -- have been taken off the streets by Windsor's Drugs and Guns Unit this week.

An active drug trafficking investigation led Windsor police to a house in the 700-block of Assumption St. at around 4:30pm Tuesday. Officers spotted a suspect believed to reside at the house nearby and arrested him.

After searching the 39-year-old suspect police say they found 617 Oxycodone pills, 11 Fentanyl patches worth about $50,000 and $1,310 cash.

Later that day police search his home and found a taser inside.

The Windsor man is being charged with possession of Oxycodone for trafficking, possession of Fentanyl for trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
