Grad Student Bus Referendum Underway

University of Windsor graduate students are now voting on the new U-Pass.

Undergrads have already agreed that they'd like to simply pay a per-semester fee to be able to ride Transit Windsor buses as they please.

"If the grad students pass it, then it will be $66 [per semester] for all full-time and part-time grad and undergrad students," explains Graduate Students Society President Iftekhar Basith.

"But unfortunately, if grad students don't pass it, then undergraduate students have to pay $82.50," he adds.

Basith says voting takes place online until 3pm, Tuesday. He's hoping to share the results before 4pm.

The GSS President is in favour of the pass, as he says 60% of grad students at UWindsor are international, and the vast majority of them use the bus to get around the city.
