Dog Euthanized After Backyard Attack

Windsor police are trying to figure out if a person or an animal caused injuries to a dog which later had to be euthanized.

Officers responded to a "seriously injured" dog Wednesday at around 9pm in the 5500-block of Lassaline Ave.

At around 5:30pm the owner apparently let her black poodle out in the backyard and put him on a leash.

A short while later police say the owner heard a yelp from her dog and that's when she found him suffering from serious injuries.

The dog was taken to a vet hospital where it was euthanized due to the extant of its injuries.

Police say no witnesses have come forward, therefore they aren't exactly sure what happened yet in this case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Windsor police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4305 or anonymously Crime Stoppers.
