Ready To Turn Out Unique Food And Beverages

Walkerville has a new gastro lounge.

Co-owners of F&B, located on the corner of Wyandotte St. and Argyle Rd., Tom Scully and John Alvarez say they'll be offering a sharing-plates menu with curated beer and wine lists, as well as craft cocktails.

"We do want to bring in some of the larger format [beer] bottles, some of the things that you don't typically see bar-to-bar," explains Scully. "We really want to have fun with it seasonally, change it up, and bring some things that people don't see but want to learn more about."

Alvarez is a Cordon Bleu trained chef who's worked with Wolfgang Puck in Las Vegas and in fine dining in Tampa Bay, Florida, all before opening Sushi Guru in Windsor.

"[The menu is] tapas-style, but not necessarily Spanish," he adds. "Trying to keep it as seasonal as possible, using most of the local ingredients from around southwestern Ontario."

The two say they chose to set up shop in Walkerville because of the culinary scene that already exists in the neighbourhood, and the support they felt from the community. They also thought it just fit the style that they hope to achieve with the lounge.

F&B opens its doors Friday, and will be taking customers on a first-come-first-serve basis.
