High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A Maidstone resident is $100,000 richer after winning a LOTTO 6/49 Encore draw.
Shelley Montgomery matched six of the seven winning numbers to take home the prize.
She says she knows exactly what to do with the money.
“We have a grandson with special needs. This money will allow him to stay at the wonderful school he currently attends,” says Montgomery.
She and her husband are also hoping to buy their first home together after 33 years together.
The winning ticket was purchased at Haf Price Variety on Drouillard Rd. in Windsor.
