Phone Scam Pretending To Be CRA

Windsor police are warning of a phone scam that they've received 200 complaints about in the last two months.

Police officials say the caller pretends to be from the Canada Revenue Agency and orders the victim to settle a debt with the government by purchasing iTunes gift cards.

Police say one victim was taken for $8,000, while another lost $1,000 in the scam.

The CRA has also released info on how to avoid phone scams.
