Police Dog Takes Down Man With Machete

A Windsor police dog helped officers track down a man with a machete involved in a domestic assault.

Police were dispatched to the 1100-block of Lincoln Rd. overnight on Saturday for a domestic call between a male and his girlfriend.

They say the female was assaulted and the boyfriend ran out the backdoor with a machete in-hand.

That's when the K9 unit was called and helped tracked down the suspect in a nearby alley.

Windsor police say the man sustained some injuries from the dog and the female suffered minor injuries from the assault.

Charges are pending.
